Job summary
Under general supervision, performs the necessary functions of safety practices and preventative measures outlined within the essential job functions. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills and thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.

- Ensure a safe workplace by planning and executing safety practices by preventative measure, training and educating current employees as required by local law, compliance, ad best practices within the industry.
- Maintain/Organize Jakes Electric Safety Committee
- Maintain Safety Protocols and Policies
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet database
- Manage and maintain and follow up on near miss and incident reports
- Manage and Maintain Job Hazard Analysis
- Manage and maintain Safety Trainers
- Maintain and manage Personal Protective Equipment Inventory
- Maintain and track Large Personal Protective Equipment
- Stay current on new safety tools and processes
- Be an Active Member of the ABC Safety Committee
- Process and submit the STEP applications each year
- Perform job site safety inspections
- Enforce and Execute safety related disciplinary actions
- Organize training opportunities for employees
- Organize and execute annual Safety Days
- Seek Compliance on OSHA regulations company wide
- Monitor and enforce Jakes Electric safety policies
- Monitor and maintain OSHA 300 Logs
- Travel to jobsite inspections and investigations
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be dependable, reliable, and trustworthy. Be able to interact with people in a professional manner. Must be detail oriented and able to work independently with little direction or specific direction. Possess Strong organizational skills. Highly motivated and able to prioritize and multitask efficiently. Ability to maintain a strict level of confidence.
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 70 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills through a variety of formats, such as email, text, telephone, and face to face. The candidate must also be organized ability to manage and complete all necessary paperwork on time and accurate. The candidate must be a hardworking, self-motivated individual that is safety oriented while working. The candidate must have good leadership skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Have good knowledge of the construction industry. Have good knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Education & Experience
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be certified or have a degree in safety.
PREFERRED:
Experience with electrical construction.
5 years experience in the construction industry.
