Title Control Panel Builder

Reports to Panel Shop Manager/ General Manager
Job summary
Individuals possessing a familiarity with PLCs, power supply and VFD wiring techniques will enjoy this role while getting the opportunity to work with their hands to complete panel assembly and testing. Additionally, the job involves project organization, in-shop and on-site construction and installation.
Summary of essential job functions
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
1. Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, point to point wiring schedules, and schematics.
2. Organizing and meeting scheduling for assemblies, pursuant to company standards.
3. Ability to identify inconsistencies in drawings and discrepancies in paperwork to ask or answer questions during assembly process.
4. Performing routine tasks in preparation for assembly, such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, and fastening terminal connections.
5. Layout, drill, punch, tap, and mounting of components in sheet metal enclosures.
6. Safe use of common hand tools and power tools including wire cutters, crimpers, drills, taps, knockouts, jig saws, band saws to prepare and assemble components.
7. Din rail and wire duct to complete electrical panels to print.
8. Neatly routing and bundling wires and cables according to established electrical standards, wiring and labeling as appropriate, for example: choosing appropriate wire colors and gauges to complete wiring to all applicable codes, specifications and regulations.
9. Maintaining working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEC, UL, and NFPA.
10. Field wiring of control cabinets into machinery if needed.
11. Assist with machine startup and debug.
12. Ensuring work meets project specifications and quality standards.
13. Completing projects within allocated project hours and by due date.
14. Working closely with electrical engineering team to resolve any issues.
15. Exercising safe work habits and maintaining a clean and safe working area.
16. Make sure all safety procedures are followed.
17. Works under limited supervision.
18. Keeps work area clean and organized.
19. Able to follow directions given.
20. Perform additional duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting materials (up to 50 lbs. assisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking. Employees must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Employees must be able to perform tasks from heights as well as on the ground level

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills through a variety of formats, such as telephone, and face to face. The candidate must also be organized to manage and complete all necessary tasks on time and accurately. The candidate must be a hard worker, self-motivated individual that is safety oriented while working. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed, to be eligible for employment with Jakes Electric LLC.

Education & Experience
Have good communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills. Must be detail oriented. Able to stand, bend, walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to use and operate hand tools and read a tape measure. High School Diploma required.

PREFERRED:

License or Certificate:

1. High School Diploma required.
2. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license
3. Must have a clean driving record
4. Assembly experience 2 years
